The main habitat of the Sabi Sands (Greater Kruger) is the Woodland savannah.

Sabi Sands is an extension of the Kruger National Park and has the same relatively dense vegetation, consisting of forest savannah. Two rivers flow through the reserve and supply it with water. The riverine vegetation provides an excellent habitat for leopards and other wildlife.
