The Saadani is a National Park in Tanzania in the provinces of Pwani. The park was established on 01.01.2005 and covers an area of 1.1 km². The Saadani offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.
The park is about 100 kilometres north of Dar es Salaam and 100 kilometres south of Tanga. It is the only park in East Africa with a stretch of beach on the Indian Ocean. And the only place where a beach swim might be interrupted by an elephant strolling by or animals coming to drink at the nearby waterhole. The Swahili fishermen casting their nets at sunrise are also a special sight.
