The Okavango Delta is a Nature Reserve in Botswana in the provinces of North West. The park was established on - and covers an area of 22 km². The Okavango Delta is a Big Five reserve and offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.

The Okavango Delta is one of Africa's most famous tourist destinations. Located in the North West District of Botswana, the inland delta of the Okavango is bordered to the south by the Kunyere and Thamalakane Fissures, which run as barriers across the Okavango and are a southern continuation of the Great Rift Valley. In 2014, the Okavango Delta was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are several private reserves in the delta, such as the Moremi Game Reserve. It offers a true wilderness experience, excellent game viewing and stunning scenery. Walking safaris and mokoro (dug-out canoe) trips are a great addition to the usual game drives.

The climate in Okavango Delta is warm. The rainy season takes place from Beginning November to End March The dry season first extended over the months from Beginning April to End October inclusive. The best time to tour is Beginning July End October.

Afternoon temperatures are warm and pleasant until September, with the heat quickly rising to a fierce peak the following month. Then the rains begin, heralding the start of the rainy season (November to March), and the delta starts to cool down a bit. It remains reasonably hot in the afternoon, but the morning is particularly pleasant.
