The Nxai Pan is a National Park in Botswana in the provinces of North West. The park was established on 01.01.1992 and covers an area of 2.1 km². The Nxai Pan offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.
The park lies to the north of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and comprises several large pans. Unlike the salt-encrusted pans in Makgadikgadi, the Nxai Pan is a waterless pan covered with grass and acacia islands. After the summer rains in December, large herds of migrating zebra and wildebeest, accompanied by other grazing animals, come to taste the fresh grasses.
