The Mountain Zebra is a National Park in South Africa in the provinces of Eastern Cape. The park was established on 01.07.1937 and covers an area of 0.29 km². The Mountain Zebra offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.

The park is 235 km north of Port Elizabeth, near the South African town of Cradock. The area is a sanctuary for the Cape mountain zebra, a subspecies of the mountain zebra.

Highlights

The park is 235 km north of Port Elizabeth, near the South African town of Cradock. The area is a sanctuary for the Cape mountain zebra, a subspecies of the mountain zebra.

Landscape

The main habitat of the Mountain Zebra is the Grassland savannah.

The surrounding Bankberg Mountains form a magnificent backdrop to the park. The loop trail leads to several viewpoints overlooking the rugged landscape of mountains, grassy plains, bushy slopes and rocky gorges, and the banks of the Wilgerboom River are richly forested.
