About Mkhaya

The Mkhaya is a Private Game Reserve in Swaziland in the provinces of Lubombo. The park was established on 01.01.1979 and covers an area of 0.1 km². The Mkhaya offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.

The reserve is considered a protected area for endangered species and is located in the south-east of Swaziland. Excellent guides show guests around in open safari vehicles and walking safaris are also offered. Visitors have the opportunity to see both white and black rhinos. There is a good variety of wildlife (though no lions) and luxurious accommodation.

The main habitat of the Mkhaya is the Woodland.

Mkhaya's habitat is mainly acacia savannah with some denser forest in the north of the reserve. Several rivers cross the reserve, each lined with beautiful riparian forest. Spring and summer bring a lot of colour with the beautiful wildflowers that grow here.
