Mala Mala is an independent private game reserve bordering the Kruger National Park on the east and the Sabi Sand Reserve on all other sides. It is the largest and oldest Big Five private game reserve in South Africa.

Landscape

The main habitat of the Mala Mala (Greater Kruger) is the Savannah.

The vegetation consists of woodland savannah, dense riverine forest, acacia scrubland, open grassland and rocky outcrops. The Sand River flows through the reserve from north to south and attracts numerous wild animals in the dry season.
