About Kwando

The Kwando is a Private Game Reserve in Botswana in the provinces of North West. The park was established on - and covers an area of 2.32 km². The Kwando offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.

The reserve is one of the most famous game reserves in Botswana and offers exclusive game viewing. Here you can drive off the road and thus closer to the animals. Various activities are offered, including day and night drives, as well as walking and boat safaris. The concentration of elephant and buffalo herds and the large number of predators here is incredible.

Landscape

The main habitat of the Kwando is the Woodland savannah.

This large private reserve is home to a variety of habitats. There is a riverine forest around the Kwando River. Ebony and marula trees dominate the park. Further south, near the Linyanti Swamps, the landscape is dominated by wide plains, Borassus palms, tree islands and wooded savannah patches.
