The Kgalagadi is a National Park in South Africa in the provinces of Hardap Region. The park was established on 12.05.2000 and covers an area of 35.284 km². The Kgalagadi offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.
The national park was created by merging the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park in South Africa and the Gemsbok National Park in Botswana and is a transboundary nature reserve in the Kalahari Desert. The relatively well-developed South African part, where most tourism also takes place, contrasts with the relatively wild and undeveloped Botswana part.
