We had a truly amazing experience of a lifetime at Ximuwu. Absolutely everything about our stay was above and beyond anything we expected. The lodge was beautiful, the safaris were incredibly well done and the staff took care of us at an elite level. We felt we were treated like family. Bradley and Demi are fun and kind, gracious hosts, and had the day to day running of the lodge functioning like clockwork. The staff remembered all of our preferences from the very first day and always welcomed us with Hollywood actor worthy smiles. The chef is creative, has an excellent skill set and every day spent a few minutes of her time to talk with us and ask how we were enjoying our stay. Her croissants are fantastic. The spa treatments were very relaxing. The rest of the staff always had a smile and made sure we never wanted for anything. I wanted to specifically mention how outstanding Bradley (head safari guide) and Tuloni (safari tracker) worked together. They were very professional, were always in sync with each other and communicated well out in the bush. Tuloni's eyesight and spotting/tracking skills are freakishly good (Bradley's are also quite impressive) at spotting animals that didn't want to be spotted. They were a great team that found all of the animals we wanted to see and some we never even knew existed. Bradley has an extensive knowledge of all flora and fauna we saw. There are very few other safari lodges in the area and all of them are small, so there is no crowding at any time. The first time we saw any other people out in the bush was the very last day when trying to track down a pride of lions that had been eluding us (and everyone else) during our stay. Over the course of our 22 years together we have traveled all over the world. We decided that our experience at Ximuwu was the most wonderful experience we have ever had. One of us is 50% paralyzed and cannot function without a wheelchair. This lodge is 100% mobility issue friendly and the staff knows how to look after guests with these issues. If anyone wants a delightful, next level awesome safari experience (mobility issues or not), Ximuwu is the place. In addition to offering a complimentary spa treatment, a complimentary helicopter ride (which was so very cool), they also offer complimentary laundry services so you can pack lighter. We are definitely returning in the future.

It was with a heavy heart that we said goodbye to this unique lodge after 4 days. (also suitable for wheelchair users) In addition to the daily trips with the ranger and tracker (we saw all the big 5), we explored the area by helicopter. We were also spoiled with culinary delights every day.
