What an amazing experience to stay in this local community owned hotel. The food is local and delicious, the guides are so knowledgeable and made sure we had the best experience possible. We enjoyed the most beautiful sunset in the desert, were able to watch the stars and the milky way, and slept to the sound of a lion nearby. Highly recommend!

I recently visited !Xaus Lodge and can't wait to go back! The location of the lodge and the view that this location provide is stunning! On one of our morning walks in the bush our San Bushman guide picked up fresh lion tracks and we then followed the tracks for some time. While we were tracking the lions we were constantly being fed interesting and fascinating information about the plants, animals and insect life in the area. We then headed back to the lodge for the game vehicles and soon caught up with the lion. Was such an amazing experience! On our drive in to the lodge (over 91 sand dunes) we came across a female cheetah and her cubs. On a night game drive we were lucky enough to see a rare brown hyena stealing ostrich eggs from a nest. The animal life around the lodge is enough to keep you interested. The extra information that the guides provide about how the bushmen survived in this semi dessert landscape and how the animals now survive was really a great bonus. The food was great and the rooms well well stocked, clean and comfortable. The surrounding scenery, with the rolling red dudes, yellow grass and deep blue sky, must be one of the best backdrops for any photographer. I could not put my camera down!

Magical stay for a birthday trip. Staff were exceptional and made so much effort to make it special. The peace and beauty of the place is indescribable. Highly recommended, especially for those who want to gain a more intimate understanding of the kgalagadi and it's people.

Fantastic location and great staff. On top of the amazing views, we encountered a genet family and a roaming wild cat at the lodge before seeing a Caracal on our night game drive! What else can we ask for?

Beautiful remote lodge, out of the world, where you can hear the sound of silence in the darkness of the night. Anthony and Suzy have been extremely helpful when we had a car issue, thank you so much for your help ! Hendrick and Kali were great guides, sharing their knowledge about animals, their spurs, plants and everything we wanted to know. The food was very nice, meals always a happy moment shared with people we didn’t know before, all linked by love of nature. Not to forget the leopard seen on our last evening and on our departure!! !Xaus will remain a great memory for us!!
