Thornhill Safari Lodge

We had a lovely stay at the Thornhill Safari Lodge in the beginning of January 2025. Our stay was for 1 week and we came with our toddler son of 15 months. It was a great experience for all of us, it was especially fun to show our son the lush wilderness, and the animals that just leisurely stroll up and visit the garden or the outskirt perimeter. We ordered dinner daily and was pleasantly surprised with a hearty dinner and its generous portions, thank you Nicole and the staff of Thornhill for making our stay such a memorable one :)

These guys know hospitality. Everything is to make your stay the best stay there is. If you are lucky like us, you can see rhino's, zebra's and giraffe's on your way to the accommodation!

A laid back family friendly environment. If you want to visit the hame parks be informed it is 40 plus Ks away... Otherwise the Hoedspruit endangered species centre is a few Ks away...

Top location, catering staff are lovely. Room and food are decent, don't expect anything special. 3 stars matches the price.

Would recommend staying here to everyone! It was amazing, the food, the staff, the safaris, the other activities, the rooms. Everything just amazing!

Good value for money. The room was beautiful. Staff is very friendly. The game drives they organise take place in another reserve which is located 45 min drive from Thornhill. Would highly recommend the bush walk which is organised in the reserve of the lodge. The food was a bit disapointing.

Loved every moment of our visit. Staff were really accommodating and will go the extra mile in every aspect. Would definitely recommend.

Cozy place in the middle of a forest with giraffs, zebras, gnus , buffalos, leopards, monkeys and more. Very friendly staff with many available drinks and good cooking. Hostess was really nice too. Many activities available to be booked on site. We went on a bushwalk and game drive in a closeby big 5 park.
