At first I thought it's a wonderful place until I was woken up at 4am with a loud and constant bang on my door by staff and security. Upon opening the door, half asleep and half naked, I was confronted by a very angry staff member, 2 aggressive security guards and an Uber driver who's threatening to assault me... It turns out the Uber driver who we used the night before, couldn't withdraw his R70 e-wallet I sent the night before. The reason he couldn't withdraw It can be a number of reasons but it's neither here nor there. The Uber driver insisted on me giving him cash which I did not have on me at the time. I offered another pin for e-wallet or a whole new e-wallet but he was adamant that he wanted cash. After the 4 of them had a conversation in Zulu, they turned to me and demanded I give my R10 000 phone to the Uber driver until I can pay the R70 in cash. I obviously declined that ridiculous demand but was then threatened to get arrested by the security guards if I did not comply. The Uber driver then took my phone regardless and gave me a phone number to reach him when I have the R70 in exchange for my phone. Couple minutes later when I had the cash I tried to phone the Uber driver and the number was not working. He never returned with my phone as he promised either. An argument broke out from 8am to 10am with the security company taking the role as the manager of the lodge. I insisted to get the owners involved but they refused to give me the numbers for the owners. The security company said they will handle it. They said that the phone is not their problem, even though they threatened me with arrest if I did not hand over my phone. After 2 hours of arguing they told me it's now 10am and I must get out of the room now and leave. Until now I was not allowed to contact the owners and the security company simply deny the whole incident now. My problem here is how can Sicas staff and the security company allow an Uber driver to knock on my door and threaten me and eventually rob me on their premises. It has nothing to do with them. I'm so upset and sad at how this played out and no one has contacted me after with any resolution.

A family cruise ended with my husband being hospitalized in Durban. We're from Cape Town I was stranded with 3 children not having any family or friends nearby. Sicas Guesthouse was nearest to the hospital. I got a double room for myself and my children the same night. Room was clean, bathroom had toiletries. Service was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. I felt totally safe in a strange place. Thank you Sicas Guesthouse for your hospitality and safe environment during a very stressful time.

We were invited to a conference at Sica's. The property is beautiful! A hidden gem exuding an olde world charm in keeping with the wonderful history we learnt from Owners Sica and Son Yannis. The delicious breakfast and lunch buffets are self service in the main dining hall, catering to all meal types. Tables are set in a fine dining style. Attentive staff are a nod away. If you play tennis, then this is your perfect destination to relax and play. Thank you for a well organised conference setting.
