Shik Shack Backpackers

We had the best time at Shik shack, I would recommend this place. Especially to backpackers who travel on a budget. We booked the wildlife itinerary. Four full days with all sorts of activities. We saw 4 of the big five! The staff is amazing; Martin & Nsuku took such good care of us. They feel like friends

I had wonderful 4 weeks at Shik Shak during my volunteering. The accommodation and the property are beautiful. Activities were organised for me every weekend and they were all great. I opted for a single room and didn't regret it. All the people I got to know were very warm-hearted. Thank you shik shak team.

Nice eco hippie place, tent was smaller then expected but all in all nice vibe!

Had such a great evening here so much so that I'm going back in 2 days time. What a great way of sustainable living and learning how to make the most of what you have. These girls know how to party !!!

We have been traveling for more than twenty years. Even the place is beautiful and the staff team is kind, we couldn't rest in our wood huts. We travel with a teenager and we paid for two tents, but we couldn't imagine that the carpet and the bed will be plenty of insects. The bed sheets were dirty. We decided to sleep in the car because nobody was there to explain the situation. Probably the camping tents don't have the problem that the brown/red houses do. In the morning, in an attempt to have the included breakfast, there were a family of little furry animals... in the kitchen. I'm sad to make that report because I really see here a beautiful place, but I think that when one knows the weak points one can try to improve.

Great place, great people. We booked one of the packages and everything was arranged very well. The African food is excellent. We had tent for sleep. Quiet and nice.

I stayed here for one night and this place was great! Eventhough it's closer to the road you hear nothing of it and can fully enjoy the sounds of nature such as hyena or zebra calls in the distance. I truly loved my stay here. Great commodities, friendly staff and top location. Highly recommend it. The tents were well equipped with two beds, nicely decorated nightstands and sockets.

Had a very good experience at Shik shack backapacker with family (2 kids 12 and 7). Close to the Kruger park, the site is unusual and make your stay memorable. you will meet animals, young volunteers, travelers...Fun !
