We spent 4 nights in September. Everything was just perfect. The ranger and tracker were extremely competent, and made every game drive unique. We felt safe even when with lions were very close to our car! The lodge is lovely and the food always delicious. The best hospitality ever

It's almost been a year (Aug 2023) since we stayed here and I've been meaning to write a review. We had an absolute blast at this lodge - mostly because of the staff. They were very personable and so friendly. They put together a gin tasting for us, booked excursions, and worked with us to make sure we had a great time, which we did. I highly recommend this lodge and give the service and staff a 10 out of 5. Thank you for making it an unforgettable experience. Also - we HIGHLY recommend the Anti-Poaching Walk. That was a highlight for us.

This lodge was luxurious a place where you can relax, read a book, go for a swim or just enjoy the views. We had 2 game drives a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, each one lasting 3 hours. We saw the big five and more and our guide and tracker were extremely knowledgable about the entire area. They served breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was the same ever day but lunch and dinner were different every day. The meals were fabulous all of them were served buffet style and there was indoor and outdoor seating. At night there were staff to escort you from the main lodge to your rooms at night. You could hear the animals outside the lodge but you definitely felt safe at all times. Thete is also a gift shop on grounds. I would recommend this lodge to anyone thinking about going on safari

Had an amazing time during our stay here! The rooms are beautiful and the way the staff decorates everything is incredible. During our game drives we were able to see Africa's "big five" (elephant, lion, water buffalo, rhino, and leopard) within the first day! We were also able to see cheetahs, hippos, zebras, giraffes, crocodiles, and impalas (so many impalas), to name a few. Every safari drive ends with a drink and some snacks in a scenic area (every day was a different place). The dinner and lunch options always had a good variety of options varying from more basic items (chicken/pork) to more unique items (impala, ostrich, boar). So it is up to you on how adventurous of an eater you want to be. We had an incredible time here and will treasure our memories from this trip fondly.

This game lodge was better than I could have imagined. The staff is what made this place. The group I was with had an AMAZING time. We laughed, danced, cried and enjoyed amazing food. Oh and as far as wildlife, a lioness literally crept up behind me and looked me in my face as I was sitting in the truck. I prayed to God and she just walked away. I definitely plan on returning and bringing more of my family.

What a time! The lodge is likely what you're looking for coming for a Safari, a place to sit back and relax, and clean off between safari rides. Good food, and a safe place to lay your head. The real prize though is the game reserve and the guide/tracker duos this place utilizes. From the first day, our pair had us feeling comfortable and welcome, we were even able to see 4 of the big 5, and 6 of the super 7 in three days (notably missing only the leopard) Excellent time, loads of experience with the guides and the lodge management to be able to speak to most anything that might be on your mind during your stay. They even have a pool, a hot tub and other amenities if the bush doesn't take too much out of you!

Attention black people! If you know the reference of “get out” this place will give you all of that. My travel companion was assaulted by another guest at breakfast. The incident was reported to the mangers but unfortunately she was made to feel as if she should apologize. She is a black and he is white. Unfortunately that is the culture in SA but we absolutely could not accept that and demanded that appropriate actions were taken! Ultimately because the assailant was checking out nothing really came of the assault. The staff did attempt to console the victim but unfortunately the damage was already done. I am writing this review to warn future black guests and to urge Shiduli lodge to develop a protocol on how to deal with racist guests such as this one.

We stayed at 4 game reserves in South Africa and this place was 100% the WORST of them all, totally due to management. We witnessed two incidents of a manager speaking very rudely to different staff members in front of guests. I'd hate to think what she tells her staff behind closed doors. It's obvious that she doesn't care about her staff and making them feel like they're worthy; instead she was very degrading towards them. A lot of tour groups and families do stay here so beware that the vibe is not very relaxing if you are an independent couple. An absolute positive was that all the staff (who weren't one of the two managers) were incredibly kind, nice, and a pleasure to be around. To the manager reading this: get your house in order and stop condoning poor treatment of your staff. They deserve better!
