One of the most special places I’ve ever stayed! All of the staff are so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. The property is beautiful and peaceful, I loved being able to see elephants from my room or while enjoying my lunch. The food is absolutely amazing too, it’s always different and there’s lots of it! And best of all, our guided drives - we saw so many animals and had such incredible experiences driving through the bush. This was the best safari experience and I highly recommend it to everyone!

We had a fantastic 3 nights at Sausage Tree. The staff are dedicated and thoughtful. Just like the other reviewers, we immediately felt part of a family. We enjoyed the plentiful food (and comprehensive wine list and bar). Dinner on the nights we stayed was lamb chop and venison sausage on the braai, fillet steak and a lamb curry. All were very enjoyable, with the chef's baking and skill at desserts particularly notable. The game drives were excellent with the tracker and guide's deep knowledge and experience of the terrain very evident. Their ability to spot wildlife at a distance is incredible. We saw some amazing sights including wild dogs hunting as well as lions, hippos and a leopard, and much else. From the porch of our tent alone we saw giraffes, zebra and warthogs. It was a truly, truly memorable trip.

Absolutely brilliant place and people. We were a big group and the staff made our stay most comfortable. The morning and afternoon drives were very interesting- we got to see the big 5 up close, thanks to Themba and Polite, our amazing guides. They were extremely skilled, friendly and regaled us with tales of their adventures. We loved our stay at Sausage resort and hope to come back.

My husband and I stayed at the camp Dec 4th-10th. We somehow picked the perfect time because we had the entire camp to ourselves (shoulder season) for 5 of the nights! The level of service we received was amazing, and not just because we were the only guests. The staff at the camp treated us like genuine family. I don't make that statement lightly. Nellie was the camp host. Her smile was like sunshine! She anticipated our needs before we could ask for things. Karinne was just as energetic and friendly. She was quick to point out animal sightings from the deck of the pool area. Dorcas and Gladys made sure we were comfortable and served like clockwork. Kaybee made delicious meals for us! My husband really enjoyed the ostrich steak and apple tart. We ate so well, too well! We spent the majority of each day (8-9 hours) with our guide Jimmy and tracker Polite. They were absolutely phenomenal!!! Truly, these two gentlemen made our trip so incredibly memorable! They asked us what our wishlist was for animal sightings and then carefully planned how to make it happen with extraordinary success! We saw male and female lions with cubs, zebras, giraffes, a hyena, a rare sighting of a pack of African dogs, Steenbach, Impalas, kudus, hippos, crocodiles, so many elephants and a leopard (three times!!). Jimmy and Polite were professional, personable and very, very highly skilled at what they do. All the staff worked so hard, putting in long hours each day to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The animal encounters were spectacular, but we enjoyed our time with the staff at Sausage Tree just as much. ☺️ We are so thankful for the opportunity to get to know them and share their incredible culture for a brief moment in time. ??

You arrive to the warmest of greetings and leave as a friend. Such a very special place. The owners and everyone who works there, could not be more helpful. The food is delicious (the chicken pie on arrival, the best I have ever had - the chef can surely bake!). Breakfast and lunch is served on the terrace, dinner under the skies, around an open fire. You are immersed in all the magic that Africa offers. Lovely tented accommodation, with individual terraces to view the bush. The beds were super comfortable. And the outdoor shower, is a treat. The tracker and guide (Polite and Jimmy) ensured we saw every animal and bird we sought, and they shared their in-depth knowledge of the wildlife, with compassionate understanding of the joys and trials of the life and existence of these beautiful animals and birds in the wild. I pray for lots of rain in the coming season. Thank you Sausage Tree for an unforgettable experience. Did I mention, I'll be back.

Had the best experience ever here! The hospitality was unmatched. Everyone is so nice and so helpful. The staff at the lodge were so friendly. The tracker and guides were so knowledgeable and taught us so much. They also made sure to move the vehicle around to ensure we saw all the animals that were found. I highly recommend this lodge. Perfection!! They also feed you all the time and the food is very good.

My daughter and I just spent three nights there. We went to bed listening to lions roaring. We watched giraffes walking while sipping our afternoon tea. Definitely an experience of a life time for us. The wonderful staff made our experience even more amazing. Jimmy and Themba are so experienced that we were able to see lots of animals at every game drive. They also told us interesting stories about the history of the lion pride, how to recognize rhynos by ears...The chef pampered us with different gourmet food everyday. The house keeping crew made sure that our tent was clean, warm and comfy all the time. The owners treated us like family. Tamara patiently answered all my many many emails before the trip, and made arrangements to accommodate all our needs. She even connected us with her friends so that we can go for a great lunch after we departed the lodge. The lodge facility is also top notch. There was solar power so we were not affected by load shedding. The tent has AC, although we did not need it. My daughter liked the indoor bath tub and I enjoyed the outdoor shower. I was also impressed by how much they pay attention to details. For example, they prepared bug repellent for us in the tent. Overall, I give this lodge my highest recommendation.
