We had a great time visiting rockfig in Madikwe. Service was great, the room was well equipped and the safari was amazing. The food was plentiful, they try to feed you at every opportunity!! Coffee, tea and snacks before safari (05:30), coffee and snacks on safari, breakfast when you get back (09:00), lunch, afternoon tea, snacks on safari, dinner. We ate so much!! One evening the meal was served to us in our villa which was lovely. If I had to mention one area for improvement I would say there were a couple of dishes which were below the otherwise very high standards, but this really is a very minor thing. I would heartily recommend Rockfig lodge.

I’ve stayed at Rock Fig Lodge twice this year. Firstly as a romantic break with my fiancé, (at which point we thought Rock Fig was so perfect we wanted to get married there) and then secondly for our wedding itself! I cant give high enough praise to the staff, guides, facilities, location or wild life around Rock Fig. It is all just incredible, and it exceeded all our expectations on every level, and is better than any other game farm or lodge I have ever stayed at. I can highly recommend staying at Rock Fig as a couple, as a family, or if you’re thinking of hosting a special event and want to hire the the entire lodge for something such as a wedding. They made my dream wedding way better than I could possibly have imagined. Thank you Rock Fig!!!

We had the Lodge and the team for ourselves for two days. What a privilege! But also when other guests arrived for the two consecutive nights, the service level remained equally high. The whole team was out to make our stay special, from our guide Honest, who we shared some deep insights with: about the world in general and animals in particular and who found our daily lion, even when they were busy mating or hunting. Pauline and Neo looked after all our service needs, while the chef and her team prepared one creative meal after the next. Even though we had a rainy and cold winter day, the team did their best to produce sunshine through their service, bringing lunch to our Nare-Villa or providing a nice welcome drink by the fire after the game drive. The hide next to the villa, equipped with tea, coffee and cold drinks, was an extra benefit. We enjoyed different herds wandering through from the comfortable hide. The Villas, in a contemporary but warm style, catered to all our needs, from an evening by the fireplace with a glass of wine to the morning tea. All that in a stylish, but warm and friendly environment. We certainly would consider Rockfig for another another stay on Madikwe!

We spent an unforgettable 6 nights at the Tlou house in the Rockfig Lodge. It was surreal to say the least. The game viewing was incredible and Honest is the best guide we ever had! So knowledgeable, so passionate about wildlife. Neo's service was top notch. We will miss her saying "it's a pleasure" whenever she serves us great food from the kitchen. We seriously are planning to return to Madikwe and hope to stay in Rockfig once again. Just a word of advice - stock up your curio shop before we come!
