About Muweti Bush Lodge

Muweti Bush Lodge and the surrounds are somewhat unique. They offer an opportunity for Africa's large game to live in harmony with man as the reserve is home to several families, including your hosts, who make this part of the world their home amongst the wilds.

The positioning of the tented chalets gives a truly unusual sense of fusion with the bush, and an opportunity to sleep in close proximity to the wilds of Africa. Each chalet has a king-sized 4 poster bed, with full en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Although the chalets are privately situated and close to the bush, they are accessed from the lodge and there is safe walking territory between the lodge and the chalets.

In addition to the tented chalet accommodation there is a self-catering cottage that gives you an opportunity to do your own thing on a self-catering basis. The cottage has a main bedroom with a queen-sized 4 poster bed and en-suite shower, as well as a second bedroom with 2 single beds and en-suite shower.

Relax on the pool side deck and wait for game to come and drink at the waterhole. Often unique elephant encounters are experienced in this way. Or relax at the pool gazing onto the Drakensberg Mountains in the distance with the bushveld right in front of you.

After a light lunch, by arrangement, an excursion to local places of interest can be arranged.

In the later part of the afternoon, enjoy a sundowner on the banks of the Olifants River, followed by an evening/night drive to see some of the nocturnal animals. This will pave the way for a return to the lodge.

Sit under the magnificently clear skies dazzling with a spectacle of stars. Be comforted by a slowly burning campfire and enjoy a delicious truly South African meal.

Your hosts Laura and Mike will attend to your every need without being intrusive. Our mission is to share with our guests our love and passion for Muweti and the bush.

Whether you stay overnight, for a week or for a month, our personal commitment to you as the guest will be the same.

Wow! What an amazing weekend! Beautiful view with elephants enjoying the water hole a couple of meters away from the camp. Our host was amazing, a great cook and game drives with a one in a million experience of a lioness chasing a buck. The tented rooms were comfortable. I can recommend Muweti Bush Lodge to anyone who needs a break and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Liza

For the most intimate and immersive bush / game experience, in the Greater Kruger Park reserve, at reasonable rates, look no further. We've been fortunate, as South Africans, to have had many bush experiences but this was right up there with the best. The food was outstanding, the rooms 1st class and hospitality ever so personal, making us feel totally at home like family. As for the games drives, these were superb, on 3 out of the 4 games drives we saw Lion, not to mention a host of other wild life. One of our top highlights was when a herd of Elephants came to drink from the water hole right nexto the lodge. Last but not least, our hosts Laura & Mike made us feel like royalty and did everything they could to make our time as pleasurable & as comfortable as possible.

This is my third time at Muweti and each time just gets better. We booked the cottage again, and did not regret it. The cottage has everything you need for a self-catering holiday, with the twice a day game drives picking you up right outside. It also has wifi now, which is great for those who want to stay connected during their stay. Hardus is incredibly knowledgeable guide, interspersing stories between sightings that really bring the bush and animals to life. Going in January meant lush, green plains a marked difference from going in winter or autumn. I highly recommend Muweti for an immersive safari experience with outstanding service.

Our time at muweti was absolutely amazing. The lodge is STUNNING - the rooms are clean and comfortable, and give incredible views right out into the bush, often with elephants walking right past! The food was outstanding, offering a taste of the local cuisine but also accommodating to any dietary needs and requests - definitely the best braai I’ll have! Our hosts took us out on game drives twice a day and we had the most incredible sightings of lions, elephants, giraffes, a leopard, just to name a few. Truly once in a lifetime experiences. A big thanks to Neil and Hardus for looking after us. We cannot wait to come back. Couldn’t recommend this place and any higher !!

I don't really know how to describe our stay to Muweti. Everything was so perfect ! We were received like never before. During our stay all the staff were in our care and make this experience so incredible. Special thanks to Hardus for the game drive, the bbq, explanation about the animals and his kindness. The situation of the Lodge is really special and we felt like home. Thanks for everything

YES!! You must stay with Mike and Laura at Muweti. Their hospitality is top notch. Guides were very knowledgeable, fun, safe, and professional. Chalets are world class. We stayed 3 nights in September and highly recommend. Had so many interactions that I’ll never forget: the top of which is elephants right outside our balcony. Wow!

We had a fabulous weekend at Muweti Bush Lodge and stayed in one of their tented chalets. What a fabulous experience it was. The accommodation was excellent and being able to spend time at your chalet and watch the game at our own little watering hole was a special treat. Mike, Laura and their excellent staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food, game drives and not to mention the sightings from the main lodge all add up to an incredible time away.

What. A. Place. Forget all your commercial factoryrun lodges. Hesitant at first, but pleased once arrives: Muweti Bush Lodge is a product of love. Laura and Mike will go above and beyond, yet give you your space to enjoy in peace and quiet. Amazing pool, huge in comparison to many other lodges. The food is delicious and only surpassed by the sheer quantity! Big eaters are welcomed here! Mike is like an uncle that loves sharing his passion about wildlife, and when a lion roars during desert, he will jump up and drive you out for a quick drive. This is passion first, business second. Be warned, you might fall in love of the place!
