About La Rochelle

Nestled amongst chalky plains with islands of Makalani palms towering the sky and Acacia thickets wrapped with endless grasslands you will find the 10 000ha lodge, La Rochelle. Home to a myriad of bird life and game species which allows for photographic game drives and waterhole sightings.

Our guest Lldge boasts a large selection of accommodation: bungalows, family rooms and luxury suite. La Rochelle restaurant prides itself in using local produce as much as possible, to aid its intercontinental style of menu, and we offer a concise wine selection to accompany our dishes.

Situated only 40 km north of Tsumeb on the newly tarred road M75 to Tsintsabis and the Okavango River, close to the eastern gate of Etosha Park, Guinas and Otjiikoto lakes. And another place of interest close to us is the Hoba meteorite which lies between Tsumeb and Grootfontein.

We took part at a tour through Namibia and this was our last stay before we headed for the airport. rooms: They were big enough, but smelled because to the stain of the furniture, the thatched roof and probably the carpet which is a zebra. The bathroom is quite big and looks renovated. A problem for us were the mosquitos. There were mosquito screens at the window but not at the door, so there were mosquitos inside the room, but there was no mosquito net above the bed which made sleeping not that comfortable. The garden and the sundeck are nice and well looked after and clean. Service: Not quite cheap drinks in comparison to other lodges with the same standard. Dinner was good but breakfast was simple. There was only one kind of bread, cheese and sausage. In addition are the breakfast times late and there was no way to get it earlier than 7:00 am. Location: If you have a self-drive trip and this is on your way, you might be fine with it. But you should be aware that this a hunting lodge.

Stayed only the one night but it was brilliant. Staff super friendly, the location was nice and peaceful, their sundowner is amazing. Food and accommodation was amazing as expected.Would stay here again if we're in this part of the country again!

Very beautiful place. I dont even know how many pictures I took of my wife even though we only stayed for 2 nights. Friendly people and the food, the food makes me want to drive back as soon as possible. The food is soo good. Network reception is the only challenge. You have to be patient to get a bit of reception at certain areas. Unless of course if you don't want to be bothered. But at least WiFi was better....Will definitely go back....

Reopening Eastern 2014 The weather is nice, the director and his wife take excellent care for us, Philip is guiding us to the animals, the team drags us out of the mud. The food and mood is excellent. The owner is a decent man with a vision of respectful handling nature and animals. Enjoy North Namibia
