Nice from far, but far from nice. It looks like this used to be a great place to stay as the views of the mountain would be good if they weren't blocked by a lap to the front and sheep pens with a caravan to the left and front. The sheep pens also introduced an issue, namely many, many flies (see pics). I know some flies are normal on a farm but the sheep's pens were way too close to the accommodation, so the first afternoon we were driven crazy by flies until we decided to go to Clare's to get fly traps. 8 flytraps later we had finally removed enough flies to finally sleep. Also, when you drive into the property you are greeted by a literal scrapyard... With some cars (not classics) being stripped and many implements and equipment. The owners were not on the farm during our stay and as the only guests it would have been more reassuring to be given the details of a security company as you know, farm attacks in SA are a thing. That said the staff were friendly which is something. Put the implements and stripped cars in sheds, move the sheep to a camp far from the accommodation and provide good security and fly traps and you could have a winner again.

This place offers all the basic amenities one might expect, and I can recommend it to all except the Penthouse suite crowd. If you want peace and wonderful views, sans poolside service, or loud, exciting distractions for a holiday (this is a working farm, after all), then I personally can recommend this lovely sanctuary as a personal escape.

Peaceful, clean, stunning view from your stoep. The owners are so friendly and helpful. We loved the stay and will definitely return.

This is a difficult one to review. Room: We booked the Rondawel, and not one of the other rooms, as the photos on Lekkerslaap reflect a great view from the room - but the photos must be out of date as the only view from the room is of a lapa that has been built in front of it. The room itself is a very clean and net and has one of the nicest bathrooms I have come across for a room of this class. However, no bathroom towels, wine glasses and even hand-soap is a let down, especially if one is travelling through. Service: None. The initial message directed us to to a specific person but they were not available. We expected to meet a person that was actually running the accommodation. We really wanted to see what the farm was about and what activities were available on the farm or in the area. We were directed to staff that did an excellent job of showing us where our room was. Our biggest issue is that we were told there were no towels on the day we were arriving via WhatsApp. No where on the booking information or website does it say there are no towels and it was a burden given our long travel and no way to dry ourselves for a shower. No reply on our query to this message is also a downer. Location: It is amazing to be on a working farm. This would get a 5/5 if it were not for the blocked view, and more importantly the caravan parked ten meters from our room. We couldn't even walk to the fence to watch the sheep, as when we did, we could see someone lying half naked on the bed and felt extremely awkward.

Plain, simple and quaint. Really nice place!

It was the best weekend in 2023!!! Loved the hospitality of the owners. Best people, friendly and they walked the extra mile for us.
