Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge

Lovely people, warm reception and really a great stay.

The elephant safed this rating After reading all the good ratings we wanted to stay two nights after a long and stressful trip through Botswana. The good things: elephants were amazing, to see them so close and peaceful drinking was amazing. The ablutions and hut for the campsite was clean and spacious which was amazing. The improvements: the pool was empty, which was a shame on the hot days. The manager told us that it will be filled in the morning, but it was still empty and not clean at all. So we could not take our relaxing day. I would understand it, due to the droughts - but why not being honest about it. We wanted to join dinner, which was a downside as well. After all we left after one night. Thankfully they did not charge us the second, even we pre booked it. Which was nice. I don’t say, that you can’t stay here - it is good for a night. But compared to other places we visited in Botswana, it is not worth 60€ - which was the most expensive camp we booked at all. Staff was friendly.

This is such a special place. From the first moment you encounter with the staff, they make you feel very welcome. Being in very close proximity to tens of elephants is a unique experience. Lucky makes sure you have a pleasant stay - he is very attentive and caring. He has proven to be an exceptional guide during our visit to Chobe National Park. I would definitely recommend anyone heading to Chobe to look no further.

A campsite with huge potential, we stayed here for 6 nights . The owner , Lucky and staff are very friendly. This is a hidden gem. The only down side is that the sites are not serviced daily leaving the braai area dirty and refuse not removed. Further I can really recommend this hidden gem.

We had a great stay at the lodge. Such a unique place close to Chobe national park! Very charming and super friendly team, great food, nice rooms and the elephant pool just in front of your dinner table snd bedroom. Incredible!
