24-h Security service
Nestled on a seasonal island near the confluence of the Luangwa and Lupande rivers, Camp Sabali is surrounded by pristine bush, and abundant bird and wildlife. The camp is a hidden haven, offering the highest standards of service and cuisine, with experienced field guides who accompany guests on both walking and driving safaris.
Situated just 45 minutes from Mfuwe Airport, a one-hour flight from Lusaka or Lilongwe (Malawi), Camp Sabali is just a stone’s throw from the front gate of South Luangwa National Park. Sabali is unfenced and animals are frequent visitors, strolling through the camp unhindered.
Each of our six luxury tented units accommodates 2 people and has an en-suite bathroom with an indoor shower, twin basins, a toilet, and access to a private outdoor shower. In addition, each tent is furnished with a king-size bed that can be converted to twin beds, sustainably sourced hardwood decor, a portable fan, and a spacious, private deck/terrace overlooking the flood plains out to the Luangwa River.
From breakfast to high tea, closing the day with a sumptuous dinner, all our meals feature ingredients sourced locally, with the freshest fruit, vegetables and meat from local growers and farmers. Our highly trained chefs take immense pride in presenting beautiful dishes that reflect the rich abundance of Zambian produce.
We do have a concierge service (available during office hours) that can assist with booking tours and activities. Our morning game drive leaves camp at 06h00 so tea, coffee and homemade rusks will be served from 05h30. During the drive, guests can enjoy freshly baked muffins or croissants, with tea and coffee.
For complete relaxation and destress, spa treatments and therapies can be arranged for guests.
Our bar is always open and we will happily mix your favourite cocktail or pour you a glass from one of our bottles of imported wines or spirits, or you can order and enjoy an ice-cold local Mosi beer and relax on the deck overlooking the bush.
Alive with the sights and sounds of nature, Camp Sabali is inspired by the local surroundings and the many magnificent bird species that call the camp home. The décor reflects the different plumage of six of the most common birds found on the island, including our rescued barn owls who were raised and released here.
