We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Botlierskop Game Reserve! The guides and all the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive – we felt completely taken care of throughout our stay. What stood out the most was how close we were able to see the animals, unlike anything we’ve experienced before! The scenery is absolutely breathtaking – a true paradise that’s well worth a visit. Our recommendation: the Sundowner Safari! While the tour ends at 6 PM and you don’t actually experience the sunset during the safari, it’s still a magical experience. Observing the animals in this unique setting and enjoying the stunning views was unforgettable. The costs are very fair and absolutely worth it. A big thank you to the entire team for making this an unforgettable experience – we’ll definitely be back!

The safari was definitely a 5-star experience! We did a day safari at midday and had a wonderful trip. The animals have a vast area, and we drove around for about 3 hours. It was not only a great drive, but we also saw many animals from a safe distance. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared fascinating facts with us. He even knew some of the animals by name and told stories about them, which made the experience even more enriching. It’s clear that animal welfare is at the heart of this reserve. The animals are not fed by humans and live in their natural habitat. A truly wonderful experience and great value for money – I can only highly recommend it!

Absolutely unbelievable experience. Just completed a two night full board experience including game drives and from arrival to check out everything has been perfect. The highlight of course has to be the game drives which were led by a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic ranger Alex. I don’t believe we were simply fortunate to see everything we wanted to including the 4 onsite big game, it was more about his knowledge and experience. Room and view were superb, food quality was excellent and staff (with no exception) were very friendly and helpful. A truly wonderful experience and highly recommended. An additional comment when deciding on a game reserve; Botlierskop do not confine particular animals to certain areas, they are all allowed to roam freely within the confines of the reserve leaving nature take its cause.

Honestly one of the best game reserves in the Western Cape. Incredible staff, attentive who go out of the way to enhance your experience. Lovely how you are so close to the game who are wild roaming without any human intervention like at some other places. Special mention to Angela and Bellanca at reception. Carle, a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and friendly. Jody - Lee at the restaurant. Helpful with a smile. Will definitely be back.

The best game reserve in Western Cape. Dod the horse riding game experience. First time on a horse ever but ddnt take 10min to get the idea, well explained by the friendly guide. It was worth it nice and long well detailed very good safari feel. Lots of animals to see. It would make a great family or group activity.

We went to have lunch at Botlierskop and enjoyed it very much! We had a rib eye steak with salad and veggies, with chips, to share, and it was delicious. The coffee was good as well. The restaurant at Botlierskop is large, with ample tables inside and also a few on the outside. The view was beautiful, overlooking the mountains. As a day visitor, you can also take game drives and do horse rides. The food on the menu is reasonably priced. There is also accommodation available.

We booked a day safari, which was convenient as we didn't have to stay at their hotel. They provided a game drive, but unfortunately, we didn't see any large carnivores like lions, leopards, or cheetahs. We wondered if these animals were actually present in the reserve. While this was a bit disappointing, the reserve itself was vast and beautiful, and the staff were very polite. Overall, it's still worth a visit.

Our recent visit to Botlierskop Private Game Reserve was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the level of care and attention to detail made us feel welcomed and well looked after. The reserve itself is a breathtaking expanse of nature, home to an incredible variety of wildlife. Each day was a new adventure filled with awe-inspiring encounters and unforgettable moments. What truly made our experience exceptional, however, was our game ranger, Silas. Silas is not only deeply knowledgeable about the wildlife and ecosystems but also genuinely passionate about conservation. His storytelling, keen eye for spotting elusive animals, and infectious enthusiasm brought every game drive to life. Whether we were marveling at the lions lounging in the shade or tracking hippos, Silas made each moment feel magical.
