I booked a Sunday Lunch for my husbands 70th birthday at the Day visitors restaurant. I also ordered chocolate cake for the occasion. I want to compliment the chef for the most delicious chocolate cake decorated beautifully even with chocolate mouse. The cake was so moist and delicious. The lunch, venue and setting was perfect for the occasion. Thank you to the staff and chef of the restaurant for a lovely enjoyable day at your beautiful new restaurant.

Our recent visit to Botlierskop Private Game Reserve was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the level of care and attention to detail made us feel welcomed and well looked after. The reserve itself is a breathtaking expanse of nature, home to an incredible variety of wildlife. Each day was a new adventure filled with awe-inspiring encounters and unforgettable moments. What truly made our experience exceptional, however, was our game ranger, Silas. Silas is not only deeply knowledgeable about the wildlife and ecosystems but also genuinely passionate about conservation. His storytelling, keen eye for spotting elusive animals, and infectious enthusiasm brought every game drive to life. Whether we were marveling at the lions lounging in the shade or tracking hippos, Silas made each moment feel magical.

We booked a day safari, which was convenient as we didn't have to stay at their hotel. They provided a game drive, but unfortunately, we didn't see any large carnivores like lions, leopards, or cheetahs. We wondered if these animals were actually present in the reserve. While this was a bit disappointing, the reserve itself was vast and beautiful, and the staff were very polite. Overall, it's still worth a visit.

We stayed for 2 nights and it was incredible, the rooms were beautiful with an amazing view of the reserve. We saw so many animals from our room, highlight being rhinos. The game drives were amazing with Mandela as our guide, he was so friendly and knowledgeable. We all agreed Mandela was the highlight of our trip to Botlierskop. The horseback riding experience was surreal and not like anything we’ve ever done. The restaurant food was exceptional both nights. Shoutout to Mandela !!

Botlierskop Private Game Reserve is an incredible experience! The reserve itself is stunning, and you’re constantly surrounded by wildlife. It’s like stepping into another world. The cottages are modern, cozy, and really comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a day of adventure. The game rangers are fantastic; they’re extremely knowledgeable and go above and beyond to help you spot and learn about all the animals. Every game drive feels like a personalized experience. Highly recommend Botlierskop for an unforgettable wildlife getaway!

Wow. What a disappointment this place's restuarant was. We took an overseas visitor there for Sunday lunch today and the service was INDESCRIBABLY bad. An absolute embarrassment to us as the hosting South Africans. Such a beautiful location yet there was no-one to greet us at the door and show us to our table. A wad of tatty menus were chucked at us by a surly waitress after several minutes of waiting. She then disappeared, never to be seen again. Half and hour later we walked out, but not before I "had a go" at the equally as surly receptionist, who rolled her eyes and told me she was "coming now". I don't think so! We'd been to this venue previously about two years ago and it was good enough then to draw us back on this occasion. But never again. PS: before the excuse comes, it wasn't as if the place was packed today - half-full at lunch time at most. Maybe the word is already out. Give this one a miss.

We went on the most awesome 3 hour garde drive in the morning. The guide was knowledgeable and kept everyone interested. Saw a lot of animal, lion, cheetahs, wildebeest, etc, etc. Then had lunch in the restaurant - food was awesome and reasonably priced. Just an awesome way to spend my birthday - thanks guys.

Smallish estate but wonderful experience from great staff to wonderful rooms and we saw plenty of wildlife. Small amount of finishing work on menu needed, some times great others not so. Dry cheese platter and over cooked mussels but wonderful line fish.
