The Rebublic of Rwanda is a 26338 km² of landlocked East Africa, characterised by densely vegetated mountains. The seat of government is in Kigali, the system of government is a unitary dominant-party parliamentary constitutional republic. In Rwanda live 13.0 people (as of 2020), most of whom belong to the ethnic group "Hutu".
The official national currency is the "Rwandan franc" (RWF). The most commonly spoken languages (official languages) are English, French, Kinyarwanda and Swahili. The vast majority of the population professes Christianity.
Rwanda is home to several national parks, game reserves and nature reserves such as the Akagera, Gishwati-Mukura or the Nyungwe Forest. Rwanda is home to the last free-living mountain gorillas. These can be observed as part of a so-called mountain gorilla trekking tour.
