The Rebublic of Mozambique is a 801590 km² state in Southeast Africa with a long coastline on the Indian Ocean and at the same time the most developed economy on the African continent. The seat of government is in Maputo, the system of government is a unitary dominant-party semi-presidential constitutional republic[. In Mozambique live 31.3 people (as of 2020), most of whom belong to the ethnic group "Makua".
The official national currency is the "Mozambican metical" (MZN). The most commonly spoken languages (official languages) are Portuguese, Swahili, Mwani and Chewa. The vast majority of the population professes Christianity.
Mozambique delights underwater sports enthusiasts worldwide with its unique reefs and breathtaking diving areas. The most famous destinations are the Quirimba Archipelago National Park, the Bazaruto Archipelago and Praia do Tofo. Unfortunately, due to civil wars, there are hardly any animals living in the national parks of Mozambique.
