Mopane Bush Lodge

Was extremely disappointed on their food, presentation 0.0 tasteless and over priced, this is after without even clear communication they decided to bill me for Xmas lunch which I thought was just a dinner menu and was not really catering for me. They served watermelon, I don't eat that, salmon too o don't eat, and I don't drink alcohol which was the only refreshment option they had on their so called Xmas menu. The couscous was watery and tasted like rubber all this for R525 and I only just stared and the food they brought to my table cos that should I hv known I wouldn't have opted for. Your rooms are just full of insects spiders and all sorts of crawling things. It's a 0 for me. Never ever will I recommend or revisit again. All they could say was there nothing we can do but they were too quick to fix the speed point and bill.

A fantastic location in the north of South Africa, with a warm welcome upon arrival. The accommodation, which includes a bar, pool, and restaurant, is excellent. Beautiful rooms with both indoor and outdoor bathrooms and a private pool, truly amazing. The food was very good, and the staff were friendly. This was absolutely beyond my expectations. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a well-deserved luxury vacation, in the wilderniss.

Mopane Bush Lodge is the epitome of soft life in the wild. It's located away from the noise with beautiful rooms with all accessories and no TV to disturb connection with nature. It's upscale with great service and the food was tasty with the restaurant and bar overlooking the watering hole for wildlife so it was great to watch elephants drink whilst have a meal.

Was unhappy with the management, and attention and service towards me, and attitude towards her staff. There was not water in the morning and she brushed me off. Talking to her staff with disrespect in front of me, a customer. The resort however is great, with good food, great fireplace, good rooms. Manager left sour taste in my mouth. 🫤

This is one of those hidden gems that you actually don't want to tell others about, because then it becomes popular... We stayed at the Mapesu wilderness camp, and it is truly an incredible experience. I must add that the Dutch Camp Manager (Vera) is an absolute asset to this lodge and she is incredibly helpful and friendly. The campsite boasts 20+ campsites, all 230V powered and floor level lights throughout the camp. There are no fences around the campsite, so this can be viewed as 'wild', but more than enough trees and foliage around for shade. 3 ablutions service the campsite (note - they are unisex ablutions) - but these are neat, clean and well maintained. Mopane braai wood was delivered to the site daily, and there is a fire pit and small braai on each stand. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this gem to anyone.

Very special place - very nice villas and other spaces like restaurant, bar and pool - exceptionally nice staff and the amazing kitchen chef Mike who magically creates super delicate meals combining local african recopies with the special, fine twist based on his international experience. We had two truly wonderful days there, combined with a super nice morning safari done by one of their super knowledgeable guides where we saw some really special moments of the local wildlife in their very natural habitat in the surrounding park/private reserve. Thank you!

What a dream. It may sound strange, but everything here was really extraordinary! The location is unique, the rooms are excellent, the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. There’s a real “Out Of Africa” feeling here. The peace and quiet in the lodge in the middle of nature is a true dream. And you feel like you are in paradise. There are numerous activities on offer, each one better than the other: We did a game drive with Chriss to the Mapungubwe National Park. It was breathtaking. Thanks to the entire team at the lodge for this impressive stay. We'll definitely be back.
