Lengau Lodge

A really lovely lodge at which to spend some special family time in the bush. Beautiful setting, great facilities, gracious hosts who not only guide you through the bush but provide great food too! Highly recommended!!

My wife and I recently stayed 5 nights at Lengau Lodge as part of our honeymoon, and the experience was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Loek and Ilse were outstanding hosts. Their warmth and personable nature made us feel right at home. The lodge itself is a perfect blend of luxury and comfort, offering stunning views and a serene atmosphere whilst allowing nature to take centre stage. The food was fantastic—each meal was a delightful culinary adventure, showcasing local flavors with impeccable presentation. Equally impressive were the game drives. Loek's expertise and passion for wildlife enriched our experience, allowing us to experience many unforgettable sightings. Lengau Lodge exceeded all expectations. Loek and Isla's hospitality, combined with superb dining and thrilling game drives, made our stay unforgettable. The intimate setup and running of the lodge made our stay perfect. Highly recommend!

Loek and Ilse are very friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home in this breathtaking place. The lodge has all the luxuries you need; beautiful rooms, swimming pool, private terrace and a lounge on the deck overlooking Greater Kruger. The game drives with Loek are very cool. We were lucky enough to see a pride of lions the first day! He is very knowledgeable about nature, stops at the most beautiful places for a coffee/drink and tells interesting stories. Ilse takes care of the food and it is really WONDERFUL! All the meals we ate were equally tasty. The surrounding by night is as beautiful as by day light. The stars are so incredible out here. Our downside was that we only stayed 2 nights. We would have loved an extra night/day to enjoy the lodge even more. Our tip is to book the extended package. The rooms are nothing short of beautiful they have inside and outside showers which are amazing!! The food is to die for and was amazing every single night and the owners truly made you feel at home and made the game drives extremely entertaining If you want to do Kruger right do it here!

Loek and Ilsa are fantastic hosts and their lodge in Grietjie Private Nature Reserve is excellent. The accommodation is spacious, spotless and beautifully appointed with all the amenities you need. The food is outstanding - tasty, superbly prepared and presented by Ilsa, in an environment that pretty much always takes your breathe away. A Bush facing infinity pool, viewing deck and 24hr streaming of the local watering hole and organised game drives are some of the features of this lodge that have made it one of the highlights of my 3 weeks in South Africa.

We have been on South African safaris before but our stay at Lengau Lodge was the absolute best! The lodge is perfectly situated, planned with attention to detail and great taste. It is quite small with only 4 cottages, so we had it all to ourselves. Our hosts - Ilse and Louke - are the nicest people you will ever meet: easygoing, friendly and very helpfull. The early morning and evening game drives with Louk were exciting with many unforgetable animal sightings (elephants and lions - including babies - were especially numerous). Louk is a treasure trove of information, and has a very keen eye. The food was exquisite!!! The entire lodge is on solar power, so we were not bothered by power outages we experianced in other parts of the country. If you choose to stay at Lengau Lodge you are in for a treat and we envy you (though we plan to be among the many return guests ourselves)! Klara and Peter

We have had an amazing time with Ilse and Loek! Between their fantastic hospitality to Ilse’s delicious cooking and Loek’s exciting and knowledgeable game drives we felt much at home. We will definitely return as soon as we can, thanks for having us!

Being back, after four weeks in South Africa, it's time to share our experiences. The four days at Lengau Lodge were simply beautiful! Ilse and Loek take care of their guests with a lot of passion. Everything is considered, and everything is perfectly organized. During our balloon ride and the safari in Kruger Park, we didn't have to worry about a thing. The game drives with Loek were truly spectacular; looking at the photos still leaves me speechless. His expertise and knowledge, even about the smallest animals, is truly remarkable. I highly recommend having a Gin Tonic at sunset in the African bush is truly magical and unforgettable. Ilse pampered us with culinary delights at the highest level. (Thanks again for the fantastic birthday dinner). The atmosphere and the shared meals with the other guests were simply lovely and it was enjoyable to reflect on the day's shared experiences. Our Rondavel was spotless, and thanks to the window mosquito screens, no creepy crawlies could get inside (one of my biggest concerns). We will never forget our stay and highly recommend Lengau Lodge to everyone.
