Gwahumbe Game and Spa

I was on WhatsApp enquiring about a few things before making a booking. Nothing irks me more than someone who doesn’t greet customers and simply responds as if being friendly is a crime. I have decided I will not book because I might just get this level of carelessness when I visit with my mother and we don’t just pay for accommodation but great customer experience goes a long way.

Beautiful location. The activities were amazing and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Simon the Game Driver was knowledgeable and super kind. And the food was over and above delicious

The place was beautiful for a day visit. Both breakfast and lunch were great, and I enjoyed the friendly, accommodating staff. The game drive was a nice experience, though we didn’t see many animals. The full massage at the spa was wonderful, and the ladies were amazing.

A perfect place for a little down time! Visiting from the UK, Gwahumbe was the perfect place for us to regroup between two organised tours in Africa. We spent 5 nights with Ali, Peter and their team, enjoying everything this wonderful game farm, lodge and spa, set amongst the colourful sugarcane plantations, had to offer. What we particularly loved was that we could walk around freely, there are interesting hikes all around the property (and nothing to eat you!) The newly renovated accommodation had such attention to detail, wonderful linens, huge beds, a gorgeous bathtub with views over the valley, even a little carafe of port to warm us on the chillier evenings. We enjoyed two very different game drives as the farm is so huge. As well as being home to hippo, giraffe and zebra, the farm will soon host a pair of rhino along with it's multitude and different antelope. The bed, breakfast and dinner option was great for us, such interesting 3 course menus with 3 different choices each evening, catering for all tastes. The wine and cocktail list was huge and the staff so welcoming and efficient. We can't recommend highly enough.

Attended a wedding here - which was magical, with stunning views and fantastic food & service! The staff are all so helpful and friendly & I will be dreaming of their coffees until i come back to stay soon!

Definitely a hidden gem. Gwahumbe is a work of art. The best game drive I've ever had despite seeing a handful of animals. Coming back for the massage as we did not get time to experience it.

Such a lovely place. And the hostess was so friendly and accommodating. Beautiful setting and decor. Food is aldo delicious

What a stunning place to camp! Right next to the river. Close to the waterfall and fishing spot. Great evenings next to the fire pit! Kids had a ton of fun!
