De Oude Schuur Accomodation

My made the booking for me as I was attending the 2024 Stellenbosch Air show. The accommodation was nice and close to the air field which meant I didn't have drive far. I was met by Liberty who took me to my accommodation. The room was lovely, clean and nicely decorated. The shower was lovely too. I think the room was called "Beloved". Elmarie and Mark are warm and friendly and made me feel very welcome. So I'll definitely be looking this one up again for the next Stellenbosch air show but this time I would like to stay longer.

We had a lovely stay! The bedding and rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. If we had problems Zelda immediately attended to our needs personally, which we appreciated greatly! We had our little dog with us, who indeed also enjoyed her stay. Honestly such a nice stay in a beautiful town!

Our experience at Oude Schuur was incredibly disappointing and upsetting. The property was unkept and in disrepair, with stained bedding and towels, a broken shower, malfunctioning blinds, and an overall lack of cleanliness and care. The parking bays were poorly allocated, and my daughter’s unit was located much further from us than had been communicated, adding to the frustration. After enduring one unpleasant night, we requested to cancel our stay due to the unacceptable conditions. However, the owner refused to fairly reimburse us, leaving us feeling taken advantage of. The manager initially offered a complimentary stay but rescinded the offer upon discovering we were meant to stay for two nights. They also refused to refund us for the night we opted not to stay, forcing us to find alternative accommodation. Although they claimed to have called a plumber to fix the shower and attempted to address the stained towels, the damage was already done. This situation was avoidable, and we should not have been held hostage by the refusal to refund or acknowledge the severity of the issues. Upon reviewing other Google reviews, it’s evident that this is a recurring issue, and the owners are not taking feedback seriously or improving the quality of their property. This neglect is unacceptable, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place. The unpleasant experience, coupled with the unwillingness to resolve the matter fairly, makes it clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority at Oude Schuur.

Excellent for the budget but needs much attention: Stable Room. Adequate for a single night but don't book the Stable Room if u want a well kept place. It's dark and noisy with a wall shared with a staff area. The staff greeting was nice, towels are good, the bed is warm, the shower is great and it's cheap accommodation. Unfortunately the unit was noisy (lots of staff traffic), the bathroom blind fell off the hinge and the window latch came off when closing the window. In short, it needs alot of tlc. But it was a short stay, so if budget is your main issue, it will do.

Far exceeded my expectations. Very spacious room with kitchenette and enormous en suite bathroom. Fantastic olde worlde furniture. Lovely little garden under the shade of very welcome trees where you can eat your meals outdoors. Ease of parking. Would stay here again. You actually don't hear the R44 traffic even though its relatively close.
