Buffalo Brooke

Beautiful view of the river and animals passing through. A wonderful peaceful stay. Houses are spacious, top level comfort.

We stayed here for an extended weekend and it was an Incredibly tranquil place to spend time with family and friends. Very comfortable and quiet, with amazing views of the Crocodile River. There is always something to see whether it's hippos bathing or the very active bird life. The house is well equipped for a large group with everything you could possibly need for a self-catering stay. The staff are lovely and make the stay even more comfortable. Oscar was our guide for the game drives and everyone loved him. A passionate and professional individual with great stories. Would definitely go back one day!

We had a really wonderful time at Buffalo Brooke and the staff were all excellent. Jacque was a phenomenal game ranger who was incredibly knowledgeable about the many different animals, plant species and bird life. He has an absolute love for the bush and the sightings. His enthusiasm is contagious and he brings humour to the day. The lodge itself was very well equipped in the kitchen and there were a number of books and games available for use too. We also thoroughly enjoyed playing ping pong and pool and having the open plan space to hang out together.

We had an incredible experience staying at Buffalo Brooke! Gail was very responsive to all of our (many) questions in advance of our stay. She helped set-up several safaris and assisted in coordinating payment prior to our arrival. We also reached out to Gail to ask if we could alter our reservation. Although Buffalo Brooke did not have capacity for every day that was being requested, Gail reached out to other AirBNB owners to help us find a place to accommodate our large group of 10. We appreciate Gail going above and beyond to help us! Buffalo Brooke itself is an amazing place to stay!! We had ample room for our group to spread out or spend time together, depending on the individual's preference. The rooms were large, clean and perfect for a good night's sleep. The kitchen was adequately supplied with all of our needs (a fryer, various kitchen utensils, a blender, etc.) and we had additional supplies and wood for the braai. The staff, Leya and Blessing, were so helpful in keeping the house cleaned, the braai and fire pit swept and the pool managed. We were grateful for their help in making the stay comfortable and enjoyable. The views from Buffalo Brooke are surreal! We had elephants and hippos cross the water onto the AirBNB side. Each morning, we ate our breakfast outside while watching the hippos play. We tried to capture the amazing sunsets with our cameras but nothing can replace being able to see the sun setting while drinking a cold beverage, watching crocodiles, hippos and warhogs move about. Jacques was such a great safari guide. He was able to locate a leopard for us and we were thrilled! Jacques was extremely personable, answering all of our questions and the many questions from our children about the animals. He identified the various footprints that we were passing, pointing out how to tell which animal made the footprint and which direction they were headed. Jaques is also very patient, indicating when we should wait at a location for rhinos or elephants to pass in front of or behind the safari vehicle. We were in awe of all that we were able to see with Jacques. We all wished that we could have stayed longer at Buffalo Brooke. The AirBNB had everything we could ever hope for along with the amazing people who helped make our vacation enjoyable. You will not be disappointed if you are able to stay at Buffalo Brooke!

We recently stayed at Buffalo Brook with a group of 8 friends, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty and comfort of the lodge. The rooms were spacious, clean, and provided us with a wonderful night's sleep. The large living area was perfect for spending quality time together, and we especially enjoyed the lovely patio outside with its breathtaking views. The braai area and boma provided the ideal setting for unforgettable evenings spent chatting under the stars. And let's not forget the pool – it was the perfect spot to relax and take in the stunning surroundings, with the crocodile river just in front and hippos playing in the distance. The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped, with everything we needed and more to prepare delicious meals throughout our stay. The staff at Buffalo Brook were simply fantastic – friendly, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had a memorable stay. Special thanks to Jacque, our game driver, whose knowledge and enthusiasm added an extra layer of excitement to our game drives. He truly catered to our needs and made each excursion unforgettable. Overall, our experience at Buffalo Brook exceeded all expectations. We can't wait to return and create more unforgettable memories in this magical place.

We spent 5 nights at Buffalo Brooke and the neighbouring property. LeoLapa, with our family of 18. The house was beautiful, very spacious, and had unparalleled views of the Crocodile River off of the back porch. We were fortunate enough to see plenty of animals each day in the water. We took morning and afternoon safari rides with our guides, Jacques and Justice, and they were incredible. Last but not least, the cleaning and maintenance staff were very friendly and did a great job. Could not recommend enough.

Last day of our visit sitting on balcony 5 hunting wild dog chased impala into river in front of us. Unfortunately huge croc then took the impala. Unbelievable sighting.

We had the best week staying at Buffalo Brooke from 19 - 25 March! The house is magnificent with the most amazing patio and pool overlooking the crocodile river. Everyday we saw animals coming to drink at the river including 30+ elephants who came to play in the river. Jacques was the most amazing and knowledgable driver and we saw the big 5 (and much more) on our game drives! The house staff (Lettie, Leya and Blessings) were just wonderful! I can't wait to go back and I will definitely stay at Buffalo Brooke again! Thank you for the most magical week.
