Bahnhof Hotel Aus

The Bahnhof Aus Staff (except for the General Manager) was very friendly and nice. We were given delicate welcome drinks, provided with chocolate on our pillows and while we had decent dinner the staff put hot water bottles in our beds, which was very lovely as I slept warm and cosy. Even if the area around the hotel is a bit shady, there is a security guard at night. So the only thing that was not up to standard was the manners of the general manager, he didn’t even say hello or introduced himself once even though we saw him multiple times. Besides him the other staff was very friendly.

Bahnhof Hotel Aus is a jewel by local standards with unparalleled hospitality. The staff was super friendly (except for the white owner who didn't greet once) and went above and beyond to make the stay perfect. There were so many little details that made us love our stay. We were greeted with a delicious welcome drink, we had a little good night chocolate on our pillows, there was a hot water bottle in all of our beds so they were already warm when we went to sleep. There was an electric heater in the rooms and the bathroom was spacious and had a little bench to put your stuff and clothes on (something many hotels lack). They have a cozy bar, an even cozier lounge with a fireplace and a restaurant where they serve dinner and breakfast and even go out of their way to put little name cards on the tables for guests. The breakfast was good and the dinner was decent. Parking is behind the hotel in a fenced courtyard and there is a security guard with a dog on duty at night.

What a great place! Simple, spacious rooms with fine beds. The kitchen is excellent and the staff is very very friendly and cheerful. These people enjoy what they do! We loved it!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Aus Bahnhof Hotel, and I can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was incredible. The rooms were beautifully clean and well-maintained. Every detail seemed thoughtfully considered to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable stay. From warm water bottles tucked into bed on a cold winters evening, to the sweet delight on our pillows for a treat. The food at the hotel was nothing short of delicious. It's clear that the kitchen staff are well-trained and passionate about their craft. Aus Bahnhof Hotel is truly a gem in Namibia that must be visited.

Never would I ever expect that in a town as small as Aus, I would have some of the best vegetarian food in the whole of Namibia. It's usually a challenge, but not at the Bahnhof hotel. I loved the ravioli and the vegetarian meatballs. We stayed at the self catering cottage and came to the hotel for supper. When we mentioned we had no heater, the manager immediately went to bring one, so we came home in a comfortable warm cottage. Very clean as well.

Stopped for a coffee and a piece of cake, the selection for which was impressive! Good coffee too! Nice service.

They really got their location strategically right: everybody needs to pass (and stop for the night) and limited other options. Hotel and rooms are ok for a night, but nothing special. Three stars because of dinner - it was just not good.

Stayed for two nights last August. It was a good stopover point without driving all the way into Luderitz. The room was clean, but noise from the hallway can be heard as if the walls aren't even there. The staff at the desk weren't all that kind either. Cold, actually, and I was ignored for a good thirty seconds before being helped. On-site restaurant was good though, and the staff here was very accommodating with dietary restrictions
